Effect of house dust mite sublingual immunotherapy in IgE and IgG4 responses to Der p 1, Der p 2 and Der p 10 and IgE to S. aureus enterotoxins in patients with Atopic Dermatitis: a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study

We have shown that sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) with house dust mite (HDM) extract was beneficial to patients atopic dermatitis (AD), decreasing signs and symptoms of AD in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial (Langer et al JACI Pract 2021 In press). aimed investigate IgE IgG4 responses HDM allergens Staphylococcus aureus exotoxins the study patients. analyzed 66 patients' sera collected before after 18-months treatment SLIT or placebo. Levels Der p1, p2, p10, S. enterotoxins A, B, C were evaluated by ImmunoCAP. Baseline values major p1 p2 very high both placebo groups (median 74.7, range 0.14-505 ISU-E 136.2, 0,12- 3,250 ISU-E; 77, 0.14-611 186.1, 0.17-2,000 ISU-E, respectively).
